In a February memo, the California Republican Party urged county organizations to tighten vetting procedures to block supporters of podcaster Nick Fuentes from gaining influence in the party.
Fuentes has made numerous comments that have generated controversy, including denying the Holocaust, praising the late Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, attacking Vice President JD Vance over his marriage to Usha Vance and praising American adversaries. The Feb. 19 memo from the California Republican Party Engagement Committee, obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, compared the tactics of Fuentes’ followers, known as “Groypers,” to the Democratic Socialists of America, which has gained influence in the Democratic Party. “The ideology is characterized as White Nationalist; hostile to constitutional, limited-government conservatism; highly critical of MAGA and President Trump; and opposing of the civil rights of women, gays, and racial minorities,” the memo reads. “The core belief of this illiberal version of ‘America First’ is that America should be reorganized around an ethnically and culturally identity-based order, modeled closely after Nazi Germany.”
I’m voting Democrat in 2026 because White people can play both sides too.
The GOP broke every single promise: Epstein File coverup, regime change War in Iran, and no mass deportations.
The GOP must be purged and burned to the ground in 26. Hostile takeover in 28.

Fuentes did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation, but he denied he was racist and sexist in a Dec. 4, 2025 interview with podcaster Steve Crowder.
“Among the expressed goals of those who have adopted this ideology is not to necessarily win elections, as our members and constituents expect of the California Republican Party, but rather to place in the primary to then qualify for delegate and/or ex officio Central Committee status with (a) voting rights in the Party and (b) the ability to appoint and control other delegates that align with their views to eventually influence or take over the Party from within,” the memo states. “This is the model the Democratic Socialists of American applied to infiltrate and grow significant influence within the Democrat Party, which has driven millions of voters away from it.”
The memo highlighted multiple comments from Fuentes, including a claim that “White people are every single bit justified in being racist … to the extent that means going out of your way to avoid Black people when you see them;” referring to Usha Vance with a racial slur and claiming that women “want to be raped.” Fuentes also gushed over Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom in December, claiming that he “mogs [JD Vance] to death” and labeling Vance a “fat subhuman.”
Fuentes has been vocally critical of President Donald Trump over Operation Epic Fury, claiming it was “another Jewish neocon war.” The memo also states that Fuentes has expressed hope for Democrats to take control of the House of Representatives in the November midterm elections.
“I’m voting Democrat in 2026 because White people can play both sides too. The GOP broke every single promise: Epstein File coverup, regime change War in Iran, and no mass deportations,” Fuentes posted on March 4. “The GOP must be purged and burned to the ground in 26. Hostile takeover in 28.”
Fuentes first became prominent when rapper Kanye West brought him as a guest to a November 2022 dinner with President Donald Trump.
Tucker Carlson, a co-founder of the Daily Caller and Daily Caller News Foundation, interviewed Fuentes in October.
