Democratic voters in North Carolina’s fourth congressional district will head to the polls Tuesday to pick between two terrible candidates
The primary election sees incumbent Democratic North Carolina Rep. Valerie Foushee opposed by Durham County Commission Nida Allam. Allam might be reasonably described as the “more progressive” of the two, but that doesn’t quite capture the radical nature of both women’s politics. For instance, Allam wants to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Foushee only cosponsored the “Melt ICE ACT,” a proposal which would “defund and strip” ICE of its authority to detain or surveil migrants. So you see, she’s a moderate.
