Field hospitals set up to treat North Carolina storm victims sit mostly empty

BOONE, N.C. — Health care companies and nonprofit organizations have erected fully equipped field hospitals in North Carolina, in a pre-emptive attempt to treat residents injured by Hurricane Helene.
